Let's face it, we can all use a little help sometimes! Many students benefit from the use of study tools to help them get through their courses. Study apps and tools can help with everything from staying organized to studying more efficiently. Whether you are a student at a traditional or online college, these apps and tools will help you maximize your time in and out of the classroom!
1. Evernote
Discover a new, easy, way to stay organized. Evernote allows you to effortlessly save notes, tasks, ideas, sources of inspiration, images, or anything else you may find online. Evernote will even sync it all between your phone and computer, automatically!
2. Quizlet
Quizlet offers tools for students to make flashcards, practice spelling, play learning games, test their knowledge, collaborate with other students, and more. Quizlet boasts millions of flashcard study sets for numerous topics, created by student users. If you can’t find the subject you’re looking for, you can always make your own. Quizlet also lets you use images and audio in your flashcard sets, which adds spice and variety to the learning process.
3. iTunes University (iTunes U)
iTunes U is a completely free medium through the Apple iTunes application where colleges and universities can offer courses at no charge, to anyone who wants to take them. Currently, over 800 colleges and universities from across the globe provide content to iTunes U for post-secondary learning.

Dictionary.com is a leading online source for English definitions, synonyms, word origins and history, audio pronunciations, example sentences, slang phrases, idioms, word games, synonyms, antonyms, Word of the Day and more. In-app purchase options include a medical dictionary, encyclopedia and more.
7. Google Drive
Google Drive allows users to store files in the cloud, synchronize files across devices, and share files easily with others. Google Drive and its collection of cloud-based office apps permit collaborative editing of notes, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings, forms, and more. All or this information is kept in the cloud, accessible from an Internet-connected computer or mobile device whenever you need them.
8. XMind
One of the best free mind mapping apps around is XMind. It is a desktop/laptop program; unfortunately, there are no mobile apps at this time. However, if you have access to desktop/ laptop computer, you can use it as a planning tool, for projects, for studying. Even if you have never used a mind mapping tool, XMind is worth a try. The Web site has a gallery of hundreds of mind maps that users have shared, to give you an idea of how much you really can do with this free desktop app.
