Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world and the number of Spanish speakers is growing every day. If you are trying to learn Spanish, this course will give you the opportunity to learn basic conversational Spanish. The goal of our program is to teach basic Spanish vocabulary, grammar, literacy, and conversation skills to students with little or no knowledge of the Spanish language.
After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Identify the basic phrases, letters, and numbers
- Recognize the structure of a sentence
- List how to use objects, reflexive verbs, and impersonal expressions appropriately
- Recall how to communicate using various tenses
Beginning Conversational Spanish Module 1
Elements of a Sentence
Module one will look at the basic phrases, letters, and numbers that you need to know in order to begin your basic conversations in Spanish. Additionally, we will explore new Spanish vocabulary for simple parts of speech. Also included in module one is basic pronunciation of the Spanish language.

Beginning Conversational Spanish Module 2
Objects and Tenses
Moving in to module two, we explore, objects, reflexive verbs, and tenses which help you begin to understand how to structure your sentences. Also, this section covers the formation of the preterit tense and its uses.

Beginning Conversational Spanish Module 3
Ser and Estar, Pronouns, Present, and Past Perfect Tenses
Estar and Ser also both translated into English as “to be”. This section covers the importance of these components in structuring sentences. We also explore commands, nouns, articles, adjectives, and pronouns.

Beginning Conversational Spanish Module 4
Future and Conditional Tenses
In module four students will look at how to communicate using future tense and conditional tenses. We also identify present perfect and imperfect subjunctives, as well as idioms.

- Internet Browsers - Google Chrome is highly recommended
- Cookies MUST be enabled
- Pop-ups MUST be allowed (Pop-up Blocker disabled)
- The Kindle Reader App or VitalSource Bookshelf App are needed for many of our courses (No special equipment needed. This can be downloaded for FREE onto your computer.)
- PowerPoint Viewer (if you do not have PowerPoint)
